Amber, A New Writing Style

Amber, A New Writing Style

I first created a variation of this writing style for a styled photoshoot for Trendy Bride magazine:

A future bride saw the photo on one of my Pinterest boards and hired me to do this style in traditional black calligraphy ink on her Kraft paper save-the-date envelopes. I named the style “Amber” – after the client :)

I recently addressed another future bride’s wedding invitations using the “Amber” writing style in pretty gold ink.

My traditional “Calligraphy” writing style:

My “Mixed Script” uses my calligraphy style for the names and my block script style for the address portion:

“Fancy Script” is my most popular writing style. Pretty but not stuffy, and easy to read! Perfect for formal and informal invitations alike…a country club wedding or a backyard BBQ rehearsal dinner. (Affordable too, y’all.)

Elegant & Colorful Styled Shoot? Take a look!

I hope you enjoy these oh-so-pretty images taken by Perry Vaile Photography that appeared in Trendy Bride magazine last year!  This fabulous photoshoot was styled by A Southern Soiree.

For the custom place cards, I painted artisan paper with bright watercolors and used gold ink for the writing. I made the holder from a crepe myrtle branch and painted it gold.

I addressed the invitation envelope in gold ink in a wavy style, perfect for this styled lakeside wedding.

Here’s my latest writing style.  “Garland.”  This style can be modified in a zillion ways.  Ink color, lettering style, spacing.  Perfect for save-the-dates, showers, rehearsal dinners.

My apprentice Hitch (orange kitty) is taking a nap on warm laundry, fresh from the dryer.  Here is Blossom, taking advantage of the vacancy on the top of my desk.  Blossom is old & grumpy, but she can be sweet when she wants to be.  I love her just the same.

"Blossom" - not my apprentice (too moody)

Here’s a WONDERFUL 2013 – full of beautiful envelopes & beautiful weddings!

Cheers!

Here’s my “Finespun” writing style, using a traditional hand-dipped calligraphy nib (very fine line).

Pin It   Here’s the “Finespun” writing style using a monoline gel pen in Navy – still elegant,
but far less time consuming (and therefore less expensive for my clients!).

The “Finespun” style looks GREAT on large envelopes!  My apprentice Hitch agrees.
