Chalkboard trend? Here to stay!

Chalkboard trend? Here to stay!

I started doing chalkboards for ceremony & reception signage around four years ago…and the trend continues to gain popularity.  Whether you’re having a swanky country club reception or a casual backyard soiree, chalkboards are the way to go!

My nephew got married to the love of his life this past fall, and I was thrilled to do some chalkboards for their ceremony & reception.  Photographs courtesy of  KC Photography of Dunn, NC.

Having a “bride’s side” and  a “groom’s side” at the ceremony used to be the norm, but that custom is considered old-fashioned these days.  Chalkboard signage will let your guests know that they may sit wherever they wish!

If your guestbook is not traditional, a chalkboard sign can instruct your guests what to do!  My nephew and his wife had their engagement photos bound in a beautiful book…and the guests at their wedding signed along the margins of the pages.  What a wonderful keepsake!

My sister-in-law created the rustic stand in the picture below—I love it!

“Cards & Gifts” chalkboards are always popular!  Natural elements were a central theme at my nephew’s ceremony & reception (and the invitation suite as well)….so I included a tree on this chalkboard…

My daughter Hannah is a professional illustrator – and she drew a portrait of the wedding couple!
